“The larger your beloved community, the more you can accomplish in the world.”

Thich Nhat Hanh

Buddhists across Traditions is UK BPOC/BAME-centered collective (with white allies and currently white-led organisations) uniting Buddhist and Mindfulness groups in service of racial justice, social equity and healing.   Our practices can help blossom a radically different society – “beloved communities”

We recognise that racism is a result of greed, class and gender stratification, which impacts us all and is also rapidly destroying the planet. We hope to collaborate and share interest and energies in challenging and healing these intersecting areas of racial and social injustice.

Our dream, the journey on which we invite you to be part of too, is to unite and call to action Buddhists and mindfulness groups around :

1. White practitioners and groups currently white-led

To join and collaborate in sharing resources, teachings, and wisdom as “white supremacy and privilege” is addressed individually and /or within groups.

2. BPOC/BAME individuals and groups

To share their knowledge and wisdom emerging from their work of healing and repairing the impact of oppression and racism, across groups and traditions.

3. LGBTQIA+ groups and practitioners

To unite LGBTQIA+ groups and individuals to share learning, knowledge and wisdom emerging from their work in creating safe spaces for all impacted by the discrimination and the resulting pain of prejudice.

4. Climate and Earth Justice

To create a coalition uniting Buddhist practitioners, groups, initiatives and action to protecting and caring for the earth.

5. A Call to Collective Action

Where we join across traditions and groups , using our practices to bring collective justice and healing to the communities we are living in.
